Tell us a little bit about yourself
I was born in Cairns, and have lived here all my life. I am the Cairns Eye Social Butterfly, and have been for about two months now. I'm also the manager of men's clothing store Cartel Collective on Spence St.
What inspired you to agree to be a Fashion Ambassador for Oceana Walk Arcade?
This role is a fantastic opportunity to showcase some of the best parts of Cairns, and combines my two favourite things; fashion and being social. This role gives me the opportunity to show people my interpretation of why I love Cairns.
In your own words, how do you like to enjoy the racing season?
The racing season in Cairns is one of the most exciting times of the year, and my absolute favourite time of year. I always make sure my hair is prepared for the many social events that occur before, during and after the races. KDP Hair and Beauty is the only place I trust with my locks.
It's also important to consider each outfit for each event, and obviously you can’t be seen at two events in the same outfit.
This year, as part of my Social Butterfly role, not only do I have to attend the Cairns Cup events, but also the events that my sponsors have already booked in. So I have to be super organised, considering the other events that I have to attend, aren't part of the racing carnival. That, for me, is the most challenging part.
Which stores do you particularly like to visit in OWA (Oceana Walk Arcade)?
Gypsett, Vintage Seeker, Vivienne Francine and Pantry 15 are my faves.
What are you most excited about this race season?
This racing season, I'm most excited to see the fashion - that's always my favourite. I’m also excited to be choosing my outfits from OWA, and working with the retailers to create some fantastic outfits.
Is there anything else you'd like to share with us?
My favourite part of living in Cairns is the unique lifestyle we lead. There’s nowhere like it on earth, which means different culture, fashions, trends, etc.
I hope to someday have my own marketing and events business, however I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn, so I’m doing everything I can to get myself in a position to achieve my goal.
Being an OWA Ambassador is such a fantastic opportunity, and I'm very excited to see where it takes me.
